Penuganchiprolu is  a  Village and Mandal in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is about 20 km east of Jaggayyapeta and 20 km north of Nandigama, on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada road.

Penuganchiprolu previously called "Pedakanchi" . There are more than 101 Temples in penuganchprolu. Penuganchiprolu is one of the great piligrim places in Andhra pradesh. The temple named Sri Lakshmi Tirupatamma Devastanam has the great goddess "Sri Laxmi Tirupathamma, Gopaiah". Every year, more than Ten lacks of piligrams visit the temple. Thousands of Women carry Bonalu(Recipi cooked with rice, milk and jaggery) as offering for the temple fair (Tirunallu) at Penuganchiprolu. Prime attraction is the Sri Tirupatamma Ammavari Temple. Best time to visit the place is during the annual fair, known as Tirupatamma Tirunallu, celebrated on the occasion of Magha Suddha Poornima (February–March).

Penuganchiprolu is also famous for its great heritage and culture. Andhra Ratna Gopalakrishnayya Duggirala (1889–1928) born in (our) penuganchiprolu. Gopalakrishnayya Duggirala was one of the famous freedom fighters/leaders in the non-violent Indian Freedom Movement. He attracted millions of Andhra Indians to the movement through his poetry and speeches. He was born in Penuganchiprolu village in Krishna district on June 2, 1889 into a Brahmin family. His father was Kodandaraamaiah and mother was Seetamma. He studied in high schools at Gunturu and Bapatla (cities/towns). While at school, even at that young age, he founded “Jaateeya Naatyamandali (National Dance Group)” to help develop arts such as drama and music. He was the Founder of "RamDandu" organization, which lead the krishna and Guntur district people in big way and attracted the attention of national leaders.

Tirupathamma, an ordinary woman, who was deified due to demonstration of the power of chastity and efficacy of moderation and patient suffering. The temple that was built as far back as in the seventeenth century is attracting streams of devotees round the year. And it is one of the very famous temples in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, whose phenomenal growth started from the date of her immolation(agnipravesham) is incessantly on the increase.Each year lakhs of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh visit the temple seeking Sri Lakshmi Tirupatamma talli(mother/goddess) blessings during tirunallu (Ritual celebrated during the months of March and April).

Sri Tirupatamba is worshipped in the Penuganchiprolu Temple as the image of “Shakti”. She preached virtuous qualities of life to her devotees and made her, Abode at Penuganchiprolu, Mudiraj Papamamba was her principal devotee and therefore, her family members are ordained to perform poojas and other sevas in the Temple. According to the folklore there were 101 Temples existing in ancient times and therefore, it was deemed as Pedakanchipuram. Muniyeru (a stream) flowing, along the Temple, and was said to be created with the spiritual power of Moudgalya Maharishi and hence it was named after him.
